Imagery - Mental

art Worth a thousand words, a picture creates responses in a person beyond conscious thought. Imagery work is a technique of creating clear and intentional pictures in the mind that allows a person to connect to parts of the body that are difficult to feel (organs, sinuses, the psoas muscle). It also provides a means of changing habitual movement patterns that have become completely unconscious, such as shallow breathing or a weak pelvic floor. Imagery work asks students to engage the mind as a way of contacting the nervous system and in turn, allowing the nervous system to create and discover new and more efficient ways of moving.
