Pilates - Physical

art The Pilates Method is a physical conditioning program that creates balance, improves posture, decompresses joints and creates elongated, toned muscles. The exercises are particularly focused on core strength, a flexible spine and full, powerful breathing. Using the Pilates equipment has a two-fold purpose. The spring-loaded tension acts as resistance in some exercises creating strength, and gives support in other exercises increasing a practitioner's flexibility and joint range of motion. Pilates is loved by athletes, dancers, and many healthy individuals, and it is also excellent therapeutic work for dealing with scoliosis, herniated discs, deterioration in the hip joint, and chronic lower back pain.
